Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has revealed its sales figures for the first month of the ongoing financial year 2024-25. In the recently concluded month of April, the manufacturer dispatched 5,41,946 units, marking an impressive 45 percent year-on-year growth.
This includes domestic sales of 4,81,046 units and exports of 60,900 units. Domestic sales witnessed a substantial 42 percent year-on-year growth, while exports soared by an impressive 67 percent over the same period last year.
Honda’s total sales surge past Hero MotoCorp
In terms of total sales, Honda managed to surpass market leader Hero MotoCorp.Despite Hero witnessing a significant surge in total sales last month, reaching 5,33,585 units, marking a 34.71 percent year-on-year growth, Honda outperformed with sales of 5.41 lakh units.
However, the domestic sales data presents a different scenario. Hero’s domestic sales experienced a robust growth of 32.91 percent in April 2024, reaching 5,13,296 units compared to 3,86,184 units in April 2023, showcasing a strong performance in the domestic market. In comparison, Honda’s domestic sales stood at 4.81 lakh units.

In other developments, HMSI recently achieved a significant milestone in the eastern region of India by selling 8 million units. This achievement encompasses Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and North-East India. On the other hand, Hero recently commenced the deliveries of its biggest motorcycle ever, the Mavrick 440, which was launched in February 2024.
