Singer Arijit Singh cast his vote in West Bengal’s Murshidabad in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections.
The ‘Chahun Main Ya Naa’ singer, dressed casually in a tee and pants arrived along with his wife Koel Roy to cast his vote.

The couple was seen walking down the narrow alley leading up to the polling booth and standing patiently for their turn. Local fans from the area were seen filming the star and following him to the centre.
After casting his vote, Arijit showed his index finger with the ink mark and encouraged others to also go out and vote.
Arijit grew up in Jiaganj and graduated from the local Sripat Singh College. Discovered by the reality show ‘Fame Gurukul’ in 2005, 37-year-old Arijit is now regarded as the best singer of his generation.
Voting was held in four constituencies of West Bengal–Murshidabad, Jangipur, Maldaha Uttar and Maldaha Dakshin.
West Bengal led the voter turnout among the states. According to the Election Commission of India, 73.96 per cent of voters exercised their franchise.
On Tuesday, Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh and his wife, Genelia D’souza were also seen at a polling booth in Latur, exercising their right to vote. Talking to reporters, the couple appealed to the people to exercise their franchise. “Family members should help elderly persons who cannot go to the polling booths on their own. I have come from Mumbai to Latur to cast my vote,” Riteish Deshmukh said.
“The temperature is high, but we can bear it for a day for our country,” he added.
