The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) declared the much-awaited Madhyamik Class 10 results today, May 2nd. Students can now access their online scorecards on the WBBSE’s official website (wbbse.wb.gov.in) or wbresults.nic.in. This year, a total of 923,013 students (403,000 boys and 508,000 girls) appeared for the exams held between February 2nd and 12th.
The WB Madhyamik Pariksha Results for 2024 show a small improvement over 2023 with an overall pass percentage of 86.31% compared to 86.15% in the previous year. While the overall pass percentage increased slightly, there are some interesting trends within the data. Male students consistently scored higher than females in both years, but their pass percentage dipped slightly from 89.76% in 2023 to 89.21% in 2024. Encouragingly, the pass percentage for female students saw a small increase from 83.05% in 2023 to 83.90% in 2024.
Chandrachur Sen emerged at the top of the rankings with an impressive score of 693, which makes 99%. Shyamapriya Guru followed closely behind, securing the second rank with 692 marks, a mere 0.14% shy of the top scorer.
